Gavin Jones

Gavin Jones is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy, affiliated with the UAMS Medical Center Pharmacy department. He serves as the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine at UAMS Medical Center. His roles include precepting PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy residents, PGY1 Pharmacy residents, and Emergency Medicine residents, while also contributing to teaching in the Principles of Pharmacy Practice and Emergency Medicine Elective courses.

Dr. Jones holds a Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Arkansas, a Pharm.D. from UAMS College of Pharmacy, and an MHA from LSU-Shreveport. His research focuses on Medical and Trauma Resuscitations, Toxicology, Stewardship in Emergency Medicine, and Off-labeled medication utilization in Emergency Medicine settings. His work spans clinical pharmacy practice, emergency medicine protocols, and organic chemistry synthesis methodologies.

His recent articles highlight contributions to emergency medicine (e.g., droperidol in gastroparesis management, vaccine programs in EDs) and organic synthesis (e.g., diene synthesis, cross-coupling reactions). These studies reflect interdisciplinary strengths in clinical practice and fundamental chemistry.
