About
Dr. Gavin Fullstone is a Lecturer in Pharmacology at the University of Portsmouth, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Health and the School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences.
Education:
- Medical Genetics Degree, University of Sheffield (2010)
- Interdisciplinary Masters in Biomedicine, University of Sheffield
- PhD in Computational Nanoparticle Modeling, University College London
Research Interests: Gavin specializes in computational modeling of biological and disease systems to advance pharmacological understanding. His work focuses on spatial modeling of apoptosis signaling and blood-brain barrier drug delivery, particularly for glioblastoma and neurological diseases. He integrates GPU-accelerated particle-based simulations to address challenges in model-informed drug development (MIDD), systems medicine, and quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP).
Publications (2021): Two recent articles highlight his expertise in TRAIL receptor targeting for apoptosis induction in gliomas and nanoparticle delivery obstacles in CNS therapeutics. Both publications demonstrate his technical focus on computational approaches and translational applications.
