Gavin Carr is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Link Tutor with the Paramedic Science team at the University of Sunderland. With a background as a Royal Air Force helicopter retrieval paramedic (2004–2019), he served in operational theatres including Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. His academic role focuses on clinical paramedic education and tactical medicine.
Research interests include pre-hospital emergency care, tactical pain management, and military medical applications. His 2019 article on police firearms medics and 2020 book section on sudden death from a military perspective highlight these themes.
