Gavin Arneill is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the MaREI Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy, University College Cork. His work focuses on marine top predator interactions with shipping activity and long-term seabird monitoring. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Zoology (UCC, 2015) and a PhD in ornithological methodologies (UCC, 2018).

Research interests include applied ornithology, climate change impacts on seabird populations, and spatial statistical analysis. His PhD developed census methods for burrow-nesting seabirds, directly informing National Parks and Wildlife Service conservation reporting.
Current projects involve integrating spatial statistics with marine ecology to assess human activity impacts. Collaborates with the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences and MaREI.
