Gautham Das

Dr. Gautham Das is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering in the School of Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He holds the Douglas C. Elder Professorship, which has supported his research and teaching in sustainability and environmental remediation. His work emphasizes integrating innovative materials into infrastructure and developing low-cost solutions for environmental challenges.

Dr. Das’s research focuses on sustainability, environmental remediation, and civil engineering materials. Key areas include the incorporation of plastic waste into roadways, low-cost water filtration systems, and the stabilization of industrial byproducts like fly ash. He explores how these innovations can address environmental challenges while providing practical solutions for infrastructure and resource management.

His research has led to student presentations at international conferences, including the 10th International Conference on Environmental Engineering and Applications (ICEEA 2019), where his team won the Best Presentation Award. The Douglas C.
