Gaspar Jorge

Gaspar Jorge is a full Professor of Geography at the University of Lisbon, affiliated with the Faculty of Letters and the Department of Geography. He holds the rank of Professor in-cathedra since 1979 and has served as Visiting Professor at institutions like the Technical University of Lisbon and international universities such as Umeå (Sweden) and Paris-Nanterre (France). His academic career spans over five decades, with extensive contributions to Human Geography, Urban Studies, and Electoral Geography.

Education includes a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Lisbon (1972), postgraduate studies at Lund University (Sweden), and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of León (Spain).
