Gary Teeple is a Professor of Sociology at Simon Fraser University (SFU), specializing in Neoliberalism, Hegelian/Marxist philosophy, human rights, and Canadian political economy. He holds a PhD in Comparative Politics from the University of Sussex, alongside MA and BA in Sociology from the University of Toronto.
His research explores global labor dynamics, the critique of liberal democracy, and the intersections of art and political theory. He has authored/edited influential books such as The Democracy That Never Was (2024) and Relations of Global Power (2011). His work frequently addresses austerity policies, neoliberal reforms, and systemic crises.
