Gary Rosenberg

Gary Rosenberg, PhD is a Professor and Pilsbry Chair of Malacology at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, affiliated with the Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science. His research focuses on malacology, systematics, evolution, taxonomy, and nomenclature of mollusks. Rosenberg holds a BS in Geology from Princeton University (1981) and a PhD in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University (1989).

His work emphasizes mollusk biodiversity, conservation status of endangered species, and taxonomic database improvement. Notable contributions include over 75 peer-reviewed publications, editorial board roles, and leadership in international nomenclature commissions.
