Gary Pomeroy is a Viola Tutor (Strings) and Chamber Music Coach at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Born in South Africa, he studied at the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía (Madrid). As part of the Heath Quartet, he has received the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award and recorded works by Tippett, Bartók, and Tchaikovsky. His educational work includes mentoring chamber ensembles, coaching the Kuumba Youth Orchestra, and viola teaching. Beyond music, he is a PADI Divemaster and avid runner.
