Gary Davis is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He holds a PhD in Social Psychology from Monash University and has held positions at La Trobe University, University of Southampton, Rutgers University, and Washington State University.
His research explores differential equations, time series analysis, and mathematics education. Current projects investigate:
- Memory systems in mathematical cognition
- Pedagogical approaches for calculus education
- Numerical methods for differential equations
Dr. Davis directs the SPATLAB research group and has developed innovative approaches for teaching calculus using infinitesimals. His educational leadership includes program development for data science curricula.
