Garry Rumbles

Garry Rumbles is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the Chemistry and Nanoscience Center and an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder. He serves as Associate Director for Research in the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI), a joint institute between NREL and the University of Colorado Boulder, and holds a Visiting Professorial Chair at Imperial College London.

As a photochemist and physical chemist, Rumbles specializes in solar energy conversion for electricity, fuel, and chemical production using molecular and polymeric systems. His research integrates fundamental photochemical processes with materials science to develop sustainable energy solutions, emphasizing light-harvesting mechanisms and energy transfer in advanced material systems.

Rumbles contributes to scholarly discourse through advisory board roles for the Royal Society of Chemistry journals Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Chemical Science, reflecting his standing in the renewable energy research community.
