Garry Robson

Garry Robson is an Associate Professor at the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora, Faculty of International and Political Studies, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Goldsmiths College, University of London (1998) and has been actively teaching and researching in Poland since 2002. His academic work spans sociology, cultural studies, and transatlantic studies, with a strong focus on British and American societies.

• Popular Culture in Contemporary UK and USA
• Sport, Social Class, and the Body

His recent publications explore themes such as digital technocracy, generational change, language evolution, and urban transformation. The body of his work reflects a deep engagement with cultural shifts in Anglo-American societies, particularly regarding class, identity, and technological influence.

• Author of influential studies on Millwall fandom and British cultural identity

Robson is currently engaged in research on Generation Z, surveillance capitalism, and distance learning under the Social (r)Evolutions Lab at Jagiellonian University. He also advises MA students in the Transatlantic Studies program and continues to publish on UK-US cultural relations since 1997. He has presented at numerous international conferences and is active in interdisciplinary academic networks.
