Garrett McKinnon

Garrett McKinnon is an Assistant Teaching Professor of History at North Carolina State University with a visiting instructorship appointment at Duke University. He holds dual appointments in Duke's Center for Jewish Studies and Department of History within Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. McKinnon earned his Ph.D. in History from Duke University in 2022 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Aerospace History at the Linda Hall Library.

His research examines militarism, technology, gender, and political economy in the United States from the early twentieth century to present. McKinnon's work intersects cultural history, war studies, and social movement analysis, with particular attention to how technological transformations shape political consciousness.
