Garrett Epps is a Professor of Practice at the University of Oregon School of Law. He previously served as a professor at the University of Baltimore Law School from 2008 to 2021, where he also acted as Supreme Court Correspondent for The Atlantic, publishing over 400 essays on constitutional law and Supreme Court jurisprudence. Prior to that, he taught Constitutional Law at Oregon Law for 16 years as the Orlando John and Marian H. Hollis Professor of Law, and held positions at American University, Boston College, and Duke University. His scholarship has appeared in prominent law journals such as Duke Law Journal and North Carolina Law Review.
Professor Epps specializes in constitutional law, with a focus on the Supreme Court’s evolving jurisprudence and broader constitutional issues. His work integrates legal analysis with current events, offering critical insights into judicial decision-making and constitutional principles.
He holds an LLM and JD from Duke University and an MA from Hollins College. Currently, he teaches Constitutional Law I and II at the University of Oregon School of Law.
