Gareth Kennedy

Gareth Kennedy is Assistant Lecturer in Sculpture and Expanded Practice at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin. His interdisciplinary practice examines the social agency of craft traditions through public installations, films, and community collaborations. Kennedy represented Ireland at the 53rd Venice Biennale and has exhibited internationally at institutions including Moscow Museum of Modern Art and Krannert Art Museum.

His research explores how material cultures mediate relationships between communities and their environments, with recent projects investigating maritime heritage and digital ethics. Kennedy has received public commissions from Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture and Fingal Arts Office. He lectures internationally on art as social practice and community engagement methodologies.
