Gang Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He serves as the Associate Director of the Capital One Illinois Center for Generative AI Safety and holds courtesy affiliations with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Security and Privacy Research at Illinois (SPRAI), and the Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL).
His research focuses on developing explainable and robust machine learning systems to enhance internet security and privacy. Key areas include adversarial machine learning, deepfake detection, phishing prevention, and security of social computing platforms.
