About
Gamze BARIM is a Professor of Chemistry at Adiyaman University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Firat University (2004) and has been a faculty member since 2009, progressing through roles from Assistant Professor to Department Chair of Chemistry since 2017. Her research focuses on polymer chemistry, including copolymerization, thermal properties of polymers, and nanocomposite materials. She has supervised multiple graduate theses and led several research projects funded by institutions like Adiyaman University and Fırat University. Among her notable achievements is the TÜBİTAK Best Poster Presentation Award (2016).
Barim has taught courses such as Advanced Polymer Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Polymer Chemistry at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has authored over 16 international refereed articles and presented at conferences in Turkey and abroad. Her administrative roles include Farabi and Erasmus Program Coordinator (2010–2014), and member of the Faculty Executive Board. She has also served on editorial and review boards for journals like International Journal of Polymeric Materials and Journal of Applied Polymer Science.
Her research emphasizes functional polymers, including the synthesis of novel methacrylate-based polymers and composites, and their applications in material science. Ongoing projects include investigations into polyaniline-doped composites and chalcogenide-based photovoltaic systems. She actively collaborates with international researchers and maintains a strong record of academic service and mentorship.
