Galina Andreeva is a Professor and Personal Chair of Societal Aspects of Credit at the University of Edinburgh Business School, where she heads the Management Science & Business Economics Group and directs the Credit Research Centre. She holds a PhD in Credit Scoring and Management Science, an MSc in Operational Research, and an MA in Linguistics from Russia. Her career includes prior roles at Bank of Scotland and an ESRC Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
Her research specializes in credit risk modeling using machine learning and big data analytics, particularly focused on Open Banking transactions. Key interests include:

- Behavioral aspects of credit decision-making
- SME finance and alternative lending solutions
- Ethical implications of AI in financial services
- Cross-border credit risk profiling
