Galen Barry is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Iona College. He joined the faculty in 2017 and holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Virginia (2015), along with an MA and BA from the University of Virginia and Oregon State University, respectively. His research focuses on the history of European philosophy, particularly Baruch Spinoza, and contemporary issues in the role of philosophy within higher education and public discourse.

Research Interests: Professor Barry’s work bridges historical philosophy (e.g., Spinoza’s influence) and modern applications of philosophy in education and society.
