About
Gaku Liu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington in Seattle since Fall 2020. His research focuses on geometric combinatorics, including polytopes, triangulations, polyhedral subdivisions, lattice polytopes, and oriented matroids. He also explores broader combinatorial areas such as graph theory, algebraic combinatorics, and extremal combinatorics, with applications to algebraic geometry, geometric topology, and complexity theory.
His work is currently supported by NSF grant DMS-2348785. He teaches courses at the university and maintains active research through collaborations and publications. Lecture notes on polyhedral combinatorics from a 2020 course are publicly available.
