Gail Fyke

Gail Fyke is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Millikin University's School of Nursing, where she has taught since Fall 2017. She leads courses in Organizational Leadership and Outcomes Management for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and Care of Adults in the Master's Entry into Nursing Practice (MENP) program.

Her educational credentials include:

Dr. Fyke's research centers on animal-assisted therapy and innovative alternative healing modalities. Leveraging 32 years of clinical experience across medical, surgical, and critical care nursing, she integrates evidence-based practice with therapeutic innovation. Her work bridges clinical expertise and academic instruction to advance nursing education methodologies.

Prior to her academic appointment, Dr. Fyke served as an advanced practice Clinical Nurse Specialist at Decatur Memorial Hospital, directing staff education, new nurse orientation, and residency programs. She previously held clinical adjunct faculty roles before transitioning to full-time academic service at Millikin.
