About
Dr. Gagan Deep is a Professor at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, affiliated with the Departments of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, and Urology. He leads the Gagan Deep Lab, focusing on discovering non-toxic agents for cancer prevention and intervention, with an emphasis on mechanistic evidence and target authentication in pre-clinical and clinical studies.
- BS (1995), MS (1997), PhD (2004)
- Key research areas: Cancer chemoprevention, exosome-mediated metastasis, hypoxia mechanisms, and tumor microenvironment
His recent publications span neurosurgical outcomes, neurodegeneration biomarkers in addiction models, and photodynamic therapy advancements for melanoma and prostate cancer. Current projects investigate hypoxia-induced exosome roles in pre-metastatic niche formation and redox biology in cancer progression.
The lab actively contributes to the Cancer Biology PhD program and collaborates with the Center for Redox Biology and Medicine, Comprehensive Cancer Center, and other Wake Forest research institutes.
