Gabriele Rasuly-Paleczek is an Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna's Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology within the Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds advanced degrees in Sociology, Political Science (MA), and Social and Cultural Anthropology, Turkology and Islamic Studies (PhD). Her research focuses on socio-cultural transformations in Central Asia and the Middle East.

She has conducted extensive fieldwork in Turkey and among Afghan refugees in Pakistan, with archival research at the India Office Library in London. Her current projects examine refugee integration in Austria through quantitative and qualitative studies analyzing flight experiences, value concepts, and structural integration challenges.
