Gabriele Natalizia

Gabriele Natalizia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Sapienza University of Rome, where he teaches International Security and Political Science. He is also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council's Europe Center in Washington D.C. starting in 2025, and directs the research center Geopolitica.info. He is affiliated with the Doctoral Program in Political Studies and the Research Center 'Cooperation with Eurasia, the Mediterranean, and Sub-Saharan Africa (CEMAS)' at Sapienza. Additionally, he teaches at the Interforces Staff College (ISSMI) and collaborates with the Italian Parliament's International Policy Observatory and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI).

His research focuses on international relations, particularly great power competition, NATO strategy, Italian foreign policy, revisionist states, and geopolitical dynamics in the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific. He contributes extensively to academic and policy debates on transatlantic relations, strategic autonomy, and the liberal international order.

His recent publications analyze trends in Italian military deployments, NATO’s strategic evolution, US-Russia relations, and China’s revisionist behavior. The articles reflect a consistent focus on security strategy, power transitions, and regional competition, often from a realist theoretical perspective.
