Professor Gabriela Ciuperca is a full Professor of Statistics at Claude Bernard Lyon-I University and member of the Camille Jordan Institute (UMR 5208). She leads the M2 master’s track “Statistics, Modeling and Data Science” and serves on the editorial boards of Statistical Papers and the Journal of Mathematics Research. Her research bridges mathematical and applied statistics, with applications in biology, medicine, air pollution, transport and industry.

Research Interests: High-dimensional variable selection (LASSO), change-point detection, robust estimation, missing-data reconstruction, mixture models, entropy estimation, empirical likelihood, biostatistics, air-quality modeling, transport and industrial data analysis, time series, Markov chains, experimental design.
Doctoral Supervision: She has supervised or co-supervised three PhD theses (Nicolas Dulac, Zahraa Salloum, Nicolas Dapzol) and numerous M2 research internships and industry projects.
Editorial & Review Activity: She has reviewed for >20 international journals and evaluated grants for the FNRS (Brussels).
