Dr. Gabriel Rinaldi is an Associate Professor in Molecular Parasitology at the University of Oxford's Department of Biology and a Tutorial Fellow in Biology at Christ Church College. He transitioned from medical practice in Uruguay to academic research, completing a Master's and PhD in Molecular Parasitology. His career includes postdoctoral work at George Washington University and a Senior Staff Scientist role at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. In 2022, he secured a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship to establish a research program at Aberystwyth University before moving to Oxford in 2024.
