Gabriel R. Sanchez

Gabriel R. Sanchez is a Professor of Political Science at the University of New Mexico (UNM), where he serves as Executive Director of the Center for Social Policy and Director of Graduate Studies in the Political Science Department. He is also a founding member of the UNM Native American Budget and Policy Institute and Director of Research for BSP Research.

• Racial and ethnic identity in political engagement
• Latino and Native American health policy
• Minority legislative behavior
• Electoral behavior and racial/ethnic politics
• Barriers to civic engagement for marginalized communities
• Expert witness work in voting rights litigation
