Gabriel Jonsson

Gabriel Jonsson, an Associate Professor and Docent in Korean Studies at Stockholm University, has held his position since 1987. His work spans teaching and research in Korean language, history, society, politics, and inter-Korean relations.

Research Interests: Jonsson's research centers on South Korean defense industry growth, human rights, and democratic consolidation since 1987. His current project examines arms export strategies, technological foundations, and political factors driving South Korea's defense sector.

Publications: Recent work includes analyses of Korean Peninsula tensions during the Trump era and biographies of South Korean political figures.

Teaching: Since 1988, he has taught Korean language at all levels and courses on history, society, politics, economics, and inter-Korean relations.
