Dr. Gabriel I. Green is an Assistant Professor of African American Literature in the Department of English at Xavier University of Louisiana. He holds a B.S. in Written Communications from Eastern Michigan University, and both a master's degree in English and a dual-title PhD in English and African American & Diaspora Studies from Pennsylvania State University.
His research specializes in African American rhetoric, Black poetics, and rhetoric-composition. Green is also an accomplished poet whose prize-winning chapbook The Magical Negro Reveals His Secret was published by C&R Press in 2019. His creative work has been featured in Santa Ana River Review, WusGood!, Peregrine, and through Button Poetry's performance platforms.
