Gabriel Araújo is an Assistant Instructor in the Experimental & Electronic Music Studios at the University of Texas at Austin. His work explores dialogues between popular and concert music, focusing on intertextuality, metaphors, and creative forces through instrumental and electronic media. He holds a Master's from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Lyon and is pursuing a DMA under Januibe Tejera.
Education: B.M. from Federal University of Goiás (Brazil), M.M. from CNSM de Lyon (France). Current studies: DMA composition at UT Austin.
Research interests emphasize reconstruction/recomposition of musical materials, deformation, and juxtaposition inspired by diverse artistic influences. He received the Funarte Prize in Composition (Brazilian Ministry of Culture) and co-founded Música Íntima concert series featuring international ensembles like Proxima Centauri and Ensemble Synthesis, producing two albums and festivals since 2014.
Teaching areas include composition and electronic media. Collaborations include projects with Apinajé people and students from Universidade Federal do Norte do Tocantins under Dr. Aia Oro Iara. His works span solo/duo, electronic, chamber, and orchestral compositions emphasizing experimental techniques and cross-genre exploration.
