Gaëtan Barbier

Gaëtan Barbier is a Chiropractor and doctoral student at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of the University of Paris-Saclay, where he conducts research on manual therapy treatment for low back pain.

His research focuses on identifying factors associated with response to manual therapy in patients with common low back pain. Recognizing low back pain as a multifactorial condition influenced by psychological, social, genetic, and physical factors, Barbier's work follows the evolving clinical guidelines that favor a biopsychosocial approach to pain management. His research methodology involves a systematic literature review followed by a cohort study to identify patient subgroups that may respond differently to specific manual therapy interventions.
