Dr. G. Rod Erfani is a Professor of Economics at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Florida State University (1984), specializing in International Trade & Finance, along with a M.A. from Florida Atlantic University (1976) and a B.S. from National University (1972). He has been at Transylvania since 1986, previously teaching at Spring Hill College and Central College. His research focuses on international economics, economic growth, and international business.
He has authored numerous articles in refereed journals and presented at conferences globally, including in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, and others. Awards include the Bingham Award for Teaching Excellence and recognition for his leadership of the Transylvania University Karate Club since 1986. He coached the USA Junior Team at the 2006 World Karate Championships in Sydney.
Dr. Erfani teaches courses such as International Trade and Finance, Macroeconomic Theory, and History of Economic Thought. He advises the Transylvania Chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon and Delta Delta Delta, and serves as President of the Kentucky Shotokan Karate Association.
