Funmilola Fagbamila is a Lecturer in the Department of Pan-African Studies at California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA), part of the College of Ethnic Studies. As a Nigerian American playwright, actress, and scholar, her work intersects academia, art, and activism. She co-founded the Black Lives Matter movement in 2013 and has received Congressional recognition in 2015 and 2018 for her contributions.
