Frédéric Le Marcis is a full-time Professor of Anthropology at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon) and a senior researcher (Directeur de Recherche) at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) in Montpellier, affiliated with TransVIHMI (UMI 233). He is currently on assignment at the CERFIG (Republic of Guinea). His research focuses on global health, epidemics, and prison systems in Africa, particularly in Guinea and West Africa. He holds a Doctorate in Anthropology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from Aix-Marseille University.
