About
Freek de Graaf is a Research Fellow at Eindhoven University of Technology, affiliated with the Fundamentals of Complex Molecular Systems sub-group. His academic background includes a BSc in Medical Sciences and Technology (2018) and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (2020), both from TU/e. After defending his PhD thesis titled Controlling Asymmetry in Supramolecular Polymer Systems in May 2025, he joined a large chemistry consortium as a postdoctoral researcher.
- Education:
- BSc in Medical Sciences and Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology (2018)
- MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology (2020)
- PhD in Chemistry, Eindhoven University of Technology (2025)
Freek’s research focuses on supramolecular chemistry and polymer science, particularly the self-assembly of discrete siloxane block molecules, RAFT polymerization techniques, and the incorporation of dissipative components in surfactant systems. His current work investigates chirality in water-based supramolecular systems using high-throughput methods.
- Professional Roles:
- Postdoctoral Researcher, Fundamentals of Complex Molecular Systems Sub-group, Eindhoven University of Technology
- Intern, Radboud University Nijmegen, under Dr. ir. Peter Korevaar (out-of-equilibrium surfactant systems)
- Member of the Big Chemistry Consortium
