Fredrik Bryntesson

Dr. Fredrik Bryntesson serves as Associate Professor of Biology and chairs the Science Department at Bryn Athyn College, where he directs faculty development. He teaches foundational biology courses in evolution, genetics, and molecular biology alongside specialized genetics courses and senior capstone projects.

Research focuses on ornithological history and conservation, particularly historical documentation of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. Current investigations utilize archival materials to reconstruct historical distributions and conservation efforts for this potentially extinct species.

Additional scholarly work includes participation in Bryn Athyn's deer ecology research collaboration with the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust, examining population dynamics and habitat interactions.
