Frederick Steinmann is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), serving as Director of the University Center for Economic Development and Principal Investigator of the UCED-Nevada Tech Hub. He holds academic appointments across multiple departments within The College of Business and the College of Science. His roles include teaching in Political Science, Geography, Managerial Sciences, and Economics.
Education: PhD in Policy, Planning and Development from the University of Southern California (2010), M.S. in Economics (2004), and B.S. in Economics (2002), all from UNR. His doctoral dissertation focused on urban revitalization and economic development in Nevada and California.
Research interests span economic development strategies, urban policy, environmental sustainability, and statistical analysis. His work integrates quantitative methods with real-world applications, such as biochar field trials for agricultural rehabilitation and studies on homelessness and regulatory impacts.
