Dr. Frederick Smith is a Research Fellow specializing in Early Modern History, with a focus on British and European history. He teaches undergraduate courses in 'History of the British Isles 4: Reformation, Revolution, Restoration' and contributes to graduate-level Theory & Methods instruction.
- Research Interests: Exile and mobility in early modern Europe, religious upheavals of the 16th-17th centuries, Catholic-Protestant dynamics, and perceptions of religious radicalism (1500-1800), particularly Anabaptism.
- Awards: Early Career Fellow in Early Modern History.
His scholarly work includes a forthcoming monograph on Transnational Catholicism in Tudor England (Oxford, 2022). Current research examines religious radicalism through the lens of Anabaptist movements in Britain.
