Freddy Witarsa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science & Technology at Colorado Mesa University, where he contributes to the College of Science and Mathematics. Research Interests: Dr. Witarsa specializes in ecological engineering, focusing on systems that convert organic waste into renewable energy and recover valuable nutrients. His core research areas include anaerobic digestion of dairy and poultry manure, algal nutrient removal systems to combat eutrophication, and integrated technologies that produce biogas and fertilizer. He applies systems thinking to assess the sustainability and efficiency of these technologies, aiming to support healthier communities and ecosystems.
