Fred P. Cocozzelli is an Associate Professor of Government and Politics at St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, St. John’s University. His research focuses on multilateral interventions, post-conflict reconstruction, social policy, minority rights, and the politics of Kosovo and the greater Balkans. He authored War and Social Welfare: Reconstruction after Conflict and contributed to Social Policy and International Interventions in Southeastern Europe.

Dr. Cocozzelli specializes in post-conflict institution building, social policy development, and ethnic community political dynamics. His doctoral dissertation analyzed the reconstruction of Kosovo’s public social welfare system after the 1998–1999 conflict, while recent work examines the political integration of Roma, Bosniak, and Turkish minorities in the region. He also served as a senior field officer and consultant for humanitarian assistance in Kosovo from 1999 to 2000.
His publications consistently address post-conflict social policy, minority rights, and institutional development in the Balkans, reflecting empirical fieldwork and theoretical engagement with ethnic dynamics and social cohesion. At St. John's, he teaches courses such as Contemporary Government and Politics, Foreign Policy of the Major Powers, and Senior Seminars in International Relations and American Foreign Policy.
