Fred Mason

Dr. Fred Mason is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at UNB, researching the intersection of sport, media, and cultural history. His work examines media representations of gender and disability in sports, historical perspectives on disability athletics, and sport depictions in literature and film.

Recent publications analyze security surveillance at women's soccer events and Olympic consumption through video games. His teaching addresses sport history through thematic approaches, and conference presentations explore ultrarunning communities and science fiction sports narratives.
