Franz-Markus Peschl is Professor of Cognitive Science and Philosophy of Science at the University of Vienna. He co-founded the Vienna Cognitive Science Hub and directs research on innovation, knowledge creation, and enactive cognition. His concepts of 'Emergent Innovation' and 'Enabling Spaces' reframe innovation as socio-epistemological engineering.
Research integrates cognitive science (4E approaches), organizational theory, and design to study how novelty emerges in systems. Current work examines AI's role in knowledge processes and future-oriented learning. Teaching innovations include interdisciplinary programs in cognitive science and knowledge creation.
