About
PD Dr.-Ing. habil. Frank Sabath is a Research Professor at the Institute of Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and Measurement Technology, part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Leibniz University Hannover. His work focuses on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), PCB design analysis, and high-power electromagnetic (HPEM) threats. He has contributed to numerous projects involving UWB antennas, shielding effectiveness, and military electronics protection.
Key research interests include transient electromagnetic interference (IEMI), HPEM vulnerability assessment, and the development of advanced materials for electromagnetic shielding. His projects span EU initiatives, industry collaborations, and fundamental studies in antenna design and field analysis.
Frank Sabath has authored over 30 publications, with recent work addressing radiated HPEM environments (2009), textile UWB antennas (2008), and analytical threat estimation for electronic systems (2008). His earlier research (1997–2003) pioneered hybrid methods for PCB radiation analysis and field simulation.
He holds a PhD and habilitation in electrical engineering and leads the institute’s research group. His lab focuses on interdisciplinary solutions for electromagnetic challenges in defense systems and commercial electronics.
