Georgi's research interests span trade unionism history, social movements, political utopias, and transnational relations. His work demonstrates a commitment to understanding how labor movements, political ideologies, and social structures interact and evolve. He approaches history without compartmentalization, creating dialogue between different spheres of knowledge.
His publication record shows a clear trajectory from studying French trade unionism (particularly the CFDT) in the 1990s, to exploring self-management theory in the 2000s, and expanding to transnational perspectives in the 2010s. His most recent work focuses on democracy at work in Europe since 1945 through the EURO-DEM study project.
Georgi has played significant roles in academic administration while maintaining an active research agenda. His work on the secularization of the CFDT and the transnational dimensions of self-management theory has contributed substantially to our understanding of labor movements and political thought in 20th century Europe.
