Frank Chiou

Frank Chiou is an Assistant Professor of Music at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he heads piano and music theory instruction. He is a pianist and educator with expertise in performance practice, pedagogical research, and music’s role in film.

• Education: B.M. from Oberlin Conservatory, M.M., M.A., and D.M.A. from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Chiou’s research focuses on integrating music analysis into performance and teaching, alongside historically informed practices in the works of Brahms and Rachmaninoff. He is also an active chamber musician, collaborating in diverse ensemble settings.
