About
Prof. Dr. Frank Bremmer is a full-time Professor in Applied Physics and Neurophysics at the Department of Physics, Philipps University of Marburg. His work bridges visual neuroscience and multisensory integration, focusing on how the primate brain processes spatial and motion information during eye movements.
- Education: Physics Diploma (1989), Dr. rer. nat. (1994), Habilitation (2000)
Research spans visual perception during saccades, self-motion reproduction, and neurological impairments in Parkinson’s disease, using neurophysiological recordings, fMRI, and EEG in both primate and human models. Collaborations include the University Hospital Marburg/Giessen (UKGM) for clinical applications.
Prominent projects include leadership of the DFG International Research Training Group 1901 – The Brain in Action and board membership in DFG-SFB-135-Cardinal Mechanisms of Perception. His group develops VR datasets and mobile eye-tracking tools for translational studies.
