Francesco Ripa

Francesco Ripa is a Visiting Professor at University of Lyon 1, affiliated with LAGEPP research group. He is also a PhD Student in Computer and Automation Engineering at Politecnico di Torino's Department of Control and Computer Science (DAUIN), where he contributes as a Course Collaborator for Automatic Control courses.

Francesco's research focuses on nonlinear and predictive control algorithms for energy optimization in electric vehicles, secure state estimation in cyber-physical systems, and observer design. His work addresses sensor attack mitigation and stability analysis for bilinear systems.

Recent publications include contributions to the 20th IFAC Symposium on System Identification (2024), where he presented Lasso-based state estimation techniques. Earlier work explores integral action in bilinear systems for heat exchanger control.

Francesco is part of the SIC - System Identification & Control research group at DAUIN, Politecnico di Torino, and currently collaborates with LAGEPP at University of Lyon 1.
