Francesco Munari

Francesco Munari is a Professor of EU Law at the University of Genoa, specializing in EU law, maritime law, environmental law, and antitrust. He holds adjunct professorships at LUISS (Rome) and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan). His expertise spans EU environmental law, maritime regulation, and transnational legal frameworks. Munari has been a Jean Monnet Professor and a visiting scholar at institutions like Yale University and the Max-Planck-Institut. He leads a top-ranked European law research team in Italy and contributes to numerous academic journals and organizations, including the European Maritime Law Organization. Additionally, he is a legal practitioner and co-founder of the law firm MGMP & Associati.

Education: PhD in International Law from the University of Milan. Research interests include transport law, competition law, and the intersection of environmental and maritime regulations. He has authored over 80 articles and eight monographs, focusing on EU legal frameworks and maritime policy. Munari chairs the Interuniversity Centre on Law concerning International Economic Organizations and sits on multiple boards related to transport and maritime law.
