Francesco Castiglione

Prof. Francesco Castiglione is a faculty member at Temple University Rome, specializing in Sports and Recreation Management. He is a renowned expert in sport organizations, international event management, and volleyball coaching, with extensive experience teaching at Italian and foreign universities.

His research focuses on volleyball performance models and event organization strategies. He has taught courses such as STHM/SRM 3222 - Professional and International Sport, emphasizing global sports management practices.

Prof. Castiglione’s publications include foundational works like Pallavolo – Super volley 1995, which highlights volleyball techniques and event frameworks. His career spans roles as a 3rd-level volleyball coach for the Italian Volleyball Federation, event manager for World Volleyball Championships, and founder of the International Volleyball Camp in Cascia, Umbria (operational since 1990).

He has also worked with the New York YMCA as an International Camp Counselor and Head Coach at the World Volleyball Training Center, Huguenot, NY. His contributions to sports education and event management are underscored by his leadership in organizing camps and international projects.
