Dr. Francesca Weaks serves as a Faculty Researcher and Health Equity Fellow at the Center for Health Equity, University of Maryland School of Public Health. She additionally founded and leads The Genevieve Strategies Group LLC, an organization dedicated to developing public health accountability frameworks and social determinants of health policy strategies for underserved communities.
Her academic foundation includes a Dual Bachelor of Science in Biology & Secondary Education (minor in Chemistry) from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Dual Master of Health Science concentrating in Health Administration and Community Health from Towson University, and a Doctorate in Public Health focused on Health Policy & Management from Morgan State University.
Dr. Weaks' research centers on eliminating systemic health disparities through policy advocacy, with primary interests in Health Equity, Health Policy, Social Determinants of Health, Public Health, Health Disparities, and Community Health. Her work emphasizes community-driven solutions to build equitable health systems and address root causes of inequity.
She operates within the Center for Health Equity Education and Training unit at the University of Maryland School of Public Health, advancing health equity initiatives through research and strategic policy development.
